Budget Kashmir Getaway: Jammu, Srinagar, Gulmarg & Pahalgam

Arrive at Jammu Railway Station, where you will be met by our representative and escorted to Srinagar. Upon arrival in Srinagar, transfer to your deluxe houseboat and check in. Srinagar is situated in the heart of the Kashmir Valley and is known for its serene lakes, beautiful landscapes, traditional houseboats and historic Mughal gardens. If time permits, proceed for local sightseeing and visit the beautiful Mughal Gardens, including Chashme Shahi (Mughal Spring), Nishat Garden (Garden of Pleasure) and Shalimar Garden (Garden of Love). Enjoy the peaceful surroundings and scenic beauty of Srinagar before returning to your houseboat. Overnight stay at a houseboat in Srinagar.

After breakfast, leave for Sonmarg for a full-day excursion. The name Sonmarg is derived from two Kashmiri words, “Son” and “Marg,” meaning Gold and Meadow, and is therefore known as the Meadow of Gold. The drive from Srinagar to Sonmarg is scenic, passing through towns and villages with beautiful views of paddy fields, rivers and surrounding mountains. Upon reaching Sonmarg, enjoy the spectacular natural beauty of the valley. You may visit Thajiwas Glacier, located around 4 km from Sonmarg. A local taxi or pony ride can be hired separately at your own expense. After enjoying the day in Sonmarg, return to Srinagar in the evening. Overnight stay at a hotel in Srinagar.

After breakfast, leave for Gulmarg, popularly known as the Meadow of Flowers. The journey from Srinagar takes you through beautiful mountain scenery and scenic landscapes. After reaching Gulmarg, the vehicle will stand at the designated parking area or hotel, as vehicles are not allowed in certain inner areas of Gulmarg. The inner sightseeing areas can be explored by walking or through an optional horse ride. Gulmarg becomes especially beautiful during winter when heavy snowfall covers the landscape and transforms it into a popular snow destination. Enjoy the famous Gondola ride from Gulmarg to Kongdoori – 1st Phase, followed by Kongdoori to Apharwat – 2nd Phase. After enjoying Gulmarg, return to Srinagar. In the evening, enjoy a complimentary 1-hour Shikara ride on Dal Lake and admire the scenic views of the Zabarwan Mountains. Overnight stay at a hotel in Srinagar.

After breakfast, proceed from Srinagar to Pahalgam, popularly known as the Valley of Shepherds. During the journey, enjoy en-route sightseeing at the historic Awantipura ruins, the famous saffron fields of Pampore and the Cricket Bat Factories before continuing towards Pahalgam. Pahalgam is surrounded by lush green meadows, snow-covered mountains and dense vegetation and is also a popular location associated with the Indian film industry. During your stay, you can explore the beautiful Betaab Valley, known for its lush green meadows and mountain scenery, Aru Valley, a scenic village located around 12 km from Pahalgam, or Chandanwari, located around 16 km from Pahalgam. A local taxi may be required for visiting these sightseeing points and is payable separately. After enjoying the beautiful valleys of Pahalgam, return to the hotel and spend the evening at leisure. After breakfast at the hotel, check out and proceed towards Jammu Railway Station. Continue your journey to Jammu to catch your train for your onward destination.
